Women constituted half of our population who are poor uneducated. Lack of education has cut the threads of the lives. They hardly aware of their rights and self-worth. They are subject of neglect and violence. Viewing of the situation Jananee Seba Sangstha (JSS) was established in the 1992 to free our women under servitude. The organization currently sites in Barunagaon in Thakurgaon district which is surrounded by Indian border 445 kilo meters of from the capital. This region is backward and neglected. Poverty persists everywhere Agriculture is the main occupation to the people. In a cycle of pressure and poverty the women are the poorest of the poor underfed, overworked in poor health and deprived.
In the UN development strategies priority has been given to increase the participation of our women in the mainstream development activities. In Bangladesh if we go through the social life of our women their duties and obligation have been greatly marred and they are being treated as limited, small and delicate one. Our women are yet being considered as private elements. JSS keenly feels to work for women’s right that they have free access to resource and their participations are increased in the development paradigm. JSS has been taking efforts that our women have not been doing the same stereotyped jobs in their house their participation are increased outside domestics non- farm area and are respected.
